Baselworld 2016 buyers and journalists were especially excited by Ferragamo’s first smartwatch, the innovative new F-80 Motion, which fuses technology and style.
The annual Baselworld Watch and Jewelry Show provides a unique opportunity for over 145,000 of the world’s leading manufacturers, buyers and journalists to take the pulse of the watch industry. For eight days, these industry leaders gather in Basel, Switzerland to launch new collections, capitalize on new business opportunities, and get a preview of innovations and trends to look for in the year ahead.
Baselworld 2016 lived up to its reputation as an industry barometer, especially for Ferragamo. According to Kari Allen, president of Ferragamo Timepieces, Baselworld buyers and journalists were especially excited by the company’s first smartwatch: the innovative new F-80 Motion.

This groundbreaking timepiece combines a precision Swiss made MOMT285-1 mechanical movement with state-of-the-art functions that include activity tracking, adaptive coaching, sleep pattern tracking, smart sleep alarms, time zone synchronization and backup. The innovative F-80 Motion retains the style and exemplary craftsmanship that has always been associated with the popular F-80 line, while incorporating the cutting edge interactive features that have made smartwatches so popular.
Visitors were also excited to learn that Ferragamo has not abandoned its roots. A new 36 mm women’s Ferragamo Style Collection showcased key elements of the brand’s DNA, including handcrafted leatherwork and sophisticated detailing. The elegant two-hand configuration features a sophisticated two-level silver sunray guilloché dial surrounded by a distinctive top ring capped with a classic grooved crown encircled by a ring of genuine diamonds.

The refined Ferragamo Time Collection also made its debut at Baselworld 2016, combining classic simplicity and exquisite craftsmanship as only Ferragamo can. Available in both men’s and women’s editions, the Time Collection got rave reviews and was seen as one of Ferragamo’s strongest collections yet.
